The BHK-90-B cutter range covers standard 9 mm (BHK-90-B-100) and heavy-duty 18 mm (BHK-90-B-101) snap-off blade formats, retractable utility knives (BHK-90-B-102) and replacement blade packs (BHK-90-B-103), supplied to wholesalers, distributors and public sector buyers across the EU and UK.
Almost every complaint about cutters traces back to one number that almost no purchase specification includes: blade hardness. Steel hardness is measured on the Rockwell C scale, and for a utility knife blade the working range is approximately HRC 58 to 60. Softer than that and the edge rolls over within a few cuts. Harder and the blade stops flexing, so it chips rather than dulls — and a blade that chips fails suddenly, while someone is pushing it. We specify hardness in writing and require a test report per batch.
The second failure point is the locking mechanism. A cutter body that flexes under load lets the blade move in the channel, which is both a cutting-quality problem and a safety one. Our inspection includes a load test on the blade channel and lock, carried out on units taken from across the production run.
